Concurrent Call licenses explained

If you are using CVI for Microsoft or Google Meet, or CRC for Zoom you are likely to need these to allow "Standards Based" SIP/H.323 systems such as Cisco/Tandberg, Poly/Polycom to join your calls.

This method, enables a pool of licenses to be shared across all of your devices, without having to buy one license per device.
The licensing method ensures that at no point in time is the maximum concurrent number of licenses exceeded, and you get the best value for money.

In some cases, a vendor may also provide burst licences which allows the maximum number to be temporarily exceeded. Usually additional bursting charges apply.

Per device Model, This enables every device to have the capability, however if you have a large estate, this can become expensive as the licenses are assigned to the device, and you require one per device.

Once you have your cloud connectors active, the concurrency model does NOT distinguish between a system you own (internal device) and an external participant joining the call.

So if you have a pool of 10 licences and 5 of your customers/suppliers (external devices) join calls, each will use one of your total pool, leaving 5 licences for your own systems to join.

We usually calculate 20% of your internal devices as a starting point. So if you have 20 traditional videoconferencing systems, 5 licences would be a good place to start and gauge what you need.

Remember - in most cases you can increase your licences inside your first year term, but not usually decrease. Some vendors have a minimum purchase and contact length.
