Poly C60 requirements, first time setup & upgrade
When you set up your C60, be careful to set it up correctly!
Before using your C60 ALWAYS upgrade the software first.
Warning...... You are likely to be pairing this to an X- series, DO NOT boot it in Teams mode, even if the device is going to be on Teams.... Boot in Poly controller mode!!!
If paired to an X-series, the upgrade process on the X-series, DOES NOT upgrade the C60 for all it will say upgrade successful
Your network may categorise this as a telephone, if you have VLAN steering, instructions below on how to stop this
The Poly C60, is basically a Conference phone and can be run in multiple different modes, this documentation covers dunning it in controller/device mode. Please be careful setting these units up as they can be a little tricky.
When setting up this unit for use:-
Select Poly controller
Click Yes
The device will reboot
click the cog (top right)
create a PIN (remember this as the only way to recover if you forget is a full factory reset
goto administration settings
Web server configuration
click to on (it is recommended you set the config mode to HTTPS only)
click back
Click network configuration
network interfaces
ethernet menu
vlan menu
turn off - VLAN discovery mode (this will stop the device been automatically assigned an IP in any telephony VLAN assigned
keep pressing back until you see save config, save config & phone will reboot
Click advanced
Click continue
Username is admin
password is the PIN you setup
Goto Utilities, Software upgrade
Click Poly hosted server
click check for upgrades
Select the highest number in Green
Red is end of life/support (not recommended)
Blue is soon to go end of life
Green is latest revisions
Click Install, Then Yes, Accept & OK
You will see no further visual queues the device is downloading software, but if you look top right on the C60 screen you may see a yellow circle spinning which means software is downloading, leave the device alone for up to 2 hours, it will reboot when it is complete.
For Pairing and further setup go to the Web Interface of the X-series & device management.

Is the device not upgrading? Even with the USB Stick? Factory reset the unit (as described in the admin guide above) then put the device into USB (optimized for Teams mode) Then rerun the update! *Note you will need to leave the system plugged in for a couple of hours*
Note, If the software is a major release out of date, e.g. 5.7.5 to 8.x.x You will need to go sequentially to the lowest availably software up from where you are.
